About this Student

My name is Zahra, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to stay with you and experience a new culture. Before delving into that though, I’d like to share a bit about myself and my interests. I’m currently 15 years old, which means I’m in the midst of puberty. Everyone says that puberty is the best time in life. It’s a time where you can get to know yourself better and grow mentally as well as physically. As someone who loves to explore and learn about different cultures, I want to have as many good friends as possible, friends from all around the world, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Throughout my upbringing, I’ve had friends from Turkey, France, Egypt, Serbia, and many more nationalities, each with different stories and ambitions. But there is so much more to discover in life.

I’ve always seen the ability to be creative as a privilege. Since most of my time has been occupied with learning languages and focusing on school, I cherish my free time. I’m more than happy to draw, sing, and dance. Dancing, in particular, makes me forget about my problems and gives me a feeling of freedom. Moving to good music has become addictive for me. Another activity I enjoy is swimming. When I was 12 years old, I crossed the Danube all by myself, which was a significant accomplishment I felt deeply connected to. There is something so peaceful and serene about being in the water.

When it comes to sharing my culture, I believe that telling stories from back home is the best way to convey important aspects of my heritage. Another powerful tool is language. I can speak German, Dari (which is very close to Persian), as well as English and a bit of French. I would love to teach you and your family some basic phrases. I think that language is not only about words it’s about connecting and once someone told me that it’s a way to show respect if you try to speak in someone’s mother tongue.

In terms of my expectations for my stay abroad, I’m excited to become a part of your family and fully immerse myself in your way of life. I hope I’m in good hands with you, so I never get homesick. I’m really looking forward to learning as much as I can about your traditions and daily routines.

Thank you for considering me as a member of your family during my time abroad. I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to creating lasting memories together.
