About this Student

Gu! My name is Sára, and I come from the Czech Republic. My parents are divorced, and I live alternately with my father and mother. I have two sisters, the older Emma, who is 19, and the younger Nina, who is only two years old. Our close family also includes a grandmother, uncles, aunts and cousins.

I am currently in the first year of an economic high school, which is quite demanding, and I have to study a lot. During weekends, I work at the football stadiums as a waiter to earn some extra money.

During my time in middle school, I participated in charitable activities. I volunteered at a senior home, providing companionship to those without families. I also collected money for women who had lost their homes. Currently, I assist my aunt, who is a foster parent, in preparing her four children for school.

History has always been my favorite subject in school, and it continues to be. Studying history is essential to learn from our ancestors’ mistakes. I am also fond of inspirational historical figures. In middle school, I was a member of the cheerleading club, which unfortunately doesn’t exist in high school.  I am looking forward to experiencing the legendary American sports spirit and hope to participate in various sports activities at school, including those not available in my country.

I enjoy listening to music, attending concerts, and going to the cinema. I am interested in fashion, as well as volunteering and politics. My father studied political science, and we often discuss politics.

I am also excited about the cultural exchange, where I can share with you what makes my country unique and learn about the uniqueness of American land and culture. I am looking forward to globally known traditions such as Thanksgiving, Halloween and everything else. But most of all, I am eager to get to know my new family!

I hope that not only will my English language skills improve, but more importantly, I will get to know a new country, its people, and customs. I look forward to travel and making new friends as part of my future life.

I am very excited about my new family!
