About this Student

My name is Ida, and I live in Sweden. My family is very important to me, and I love spending time with them, whether we’re going out on a walk, eating at a restaurant and watch a movie or just being home playing games. We love to travel and have visited many different places both in Sweden and other places in the world. A culture and way of living I particularly have heard a lot about is the American one which sounds very interesting to me. I would love to experience it with you and get to learn more about it during my year in America.

I often spend a lot of my free time with my friends as well. We do a lot of things together like listening to music, doing our homework together, going shopping and thrifting, or just sitting and talking together. I like playing volleyball. Another hobby of mine is singing.

A couple of years ago I went to the US with my family for a holiday, and since then I’ve always wanted to go back. Of course, I also watch the typical high school movies and thought that the high school spirit with all the traditions like prom, homecoming, and football games where things that I would love to experience for myself. I’ve heard a lot about the country and way of living from former exchange students. The students have said that they grew as a person, became more independent and met a lot of new people who were very welcoming and kind.
